Brahms-Soloists Hamburg

English Summary

Needless to say, the Brahms-Soloists play their namesake’s music with particular affection.

Romantic chamber music for piano is the main focus of this Hamburg ensemble, but the players also interpret works from different eras in varying instrumental combinations.

In actual fact, this ensemble has been in existence for some time.

During their studies in Amsterdam, the violinist Juditha Haeberlin and pianist Franck-Thomas Link dreamt of their own leading ensemble. Ten years and an uncountable number of concerts later, in 2005 their dream has come true.

The musicians, who came together over a series of more than 500 concerts, now want to make themselves known under their new name. The ensemble´s repertoire already comprises of more than 300 works ranging from Barock to Contemporary.

The Brahms-Soloists’ string players are all principals with Ensemble Resonanz, Ensemble in Residence der Laeiszhalle / Musikhalle Hamburg. This string orchestra sets international standards not only with its homogenous sound, but also its work almost exclusively without a conductor. Its Leader is Juditha Haeberlin.

Our wind players are members of various ensembles and orchestras in Berlin and Hamburg. They possess a wealth of performing experience and were welcomed as frequent guests at both the Hamburger Kammerkunstverein and Ensemble Resonanz.

The pianist in the ensemble is Franck-Thomas Link. He performs as soloist, chamber musician and Lied accompanist throughout Europe, Canada and Japan. As Artistic Director of the Hamburger Kammerkunstverein he shows great empathy for both the ensemble and audience and has given over 400 concerts there since 1999.
